Carolina Duarte, LICSW

Founder and Mental Health Wellness Therapist

Divine Inner Wellness (DIW) was created through the lens of a first-generation immigrant social worker. Growing up with dual consciousness, I often felt the tension between my inner environment and the outside world. Straddling both my Hispanic and American cultures, I learned early on that identities are complex and multifaceted, each deserving respect. That personal journey with navigating cultural expectations, breaking generational cycles, and learning to live grounded in my unshakable truth inspires the work I do today.

I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, a Bachelor’s in Social Work, and a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Central Florida. During graduate school, I was honored to receive the Social Work Healthcare Education and Leadership Scholars (HEALS) scholarship from the National Association of Social Workers (NASW), which deepened my dedication to supporting individuals navigating the intersections of health and mental wellness.

Over the course of my career, I have worked in hospitals, high performance schools, clinics, and community-based organizations, supporting adults, youth, and families. My clinical experience spans anxiety, depression, trauma, personality disorders, trauma (cultural, sexual, emotional, physical), medical complexities (oncology, bariatric, organ transplant) and the unique stressors faced by working professionals. I also specialize in immigration evaluations, providing thorough, compassionate, and culturally sensitive assessments to support individuals and families in critical transitions.

At DIW, we embrace a multidimensional approach to mental health and wellness. We recognize that when one element—physical, emotional, mental, or spiritual—is out of sync, it affects the whole. By integrating evidence-based practices such as Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy with holistic methods like trauma-informed yoga and mindfulness, I help clients move toward balance and resilience.

My practice is grounded in cultural competence, harm reduction, and family systems, allowing me to provide care that honors the complexities of identity and lived experience. Whether you are navigating life transitions, managing stress and trauma, or seeking an immigration evaluation, my goal is to create a safe, empowering space for healing and growth.
